The Bayport Fire Department is replacing it's 1971 Ford F series truck that for the past 15 years has been assigned to the water rescue squad. The truck has served us well but it has shown its age even with upkeep. In 2003 work was started to design a new vehicle that can be used to not only support the needs of the team, but serve in multiple situations if needed. Finally in 2005 the bid contract was awarded to Marion body works of Wisconsin. Marion not only builds fire, rescue, military and commercial vehicles but the specialize in custom work, on that we knew we were building.
The truck is a 2005 Ford F550 SuperDuty, deisel Powerstroke. The body (box) is 12' long.
Special features on this vehicle include the following:
Rear Single wheel axel conversion
Onboard Air system for self inflating tires (for off road use)
Lo-Voltage emergency and flood lighting
Non glare sceen and flood lighting
Solid and non water trapping compartments and interior
18 gal fresh water tank and rv pump
side awning
Special mounting for small boat on roof
front and rear hitch receivers and whinch connections
single rear door
and many more options
