BFD fights Christmas Eve house fire

The Bayport Fire Department responded to a working house fire on Eatondale Avenue in Bayport early in the morning Christmas Eve. The initial fire was reported as a brush fire in the vicinity of Nicols Rd and Purick Street.
First Assistant Chief Robert Fleming was first on scene and reported the fire was to the rear of the property and had advanced to the two story house. The fire was under control by 4:45 am.
Community Ambulance provided EMS and Triage support while mutual aid was provided by the Blue Point and Sayville Fire Departments.
