Surface Ice Rescue Tech Level I 2020

Engine Company No. 1 is hosting Lifeguard Systems Surface Ice Rescue Tech Level I.

EMS Objectives - CME CREDIT (Suffolk County Only).  Sat Feb 8, 2020 8am - 12pm 

4 hour session is available for EMS personnel who do not want to take the full Ice Rescue class but want to learn about the medical concerns and procedures. They will also be introduced to the operations and made aware of the procedures for Tenders and Ice Rescue Technicians however no on ice or hands-on training will be conducted.

Operations Certification (no hands on) - Sat & Sun Feb 8, 2020  8am - 5pm 

Technician certification class room and hands on:  Sat & Sun Feb 8 & 9, 2020 8am - 5pm (class typically ends at 3pm on Sunday)

Part class, mostly hands on.  mulitple victim, advanced hardware and ropes. 

This class will not be held in 2020.

Working house fire on Fairview Avenue, late 1990's.  BFD Members prepare to rescue trapped firefighters after a roof collapse.  All firefighters survived the incident and only a few minor injuries occured.  The fire was caused by a faulty indoor pool heater.

At 14:31 Hrs the Bayport Fire Department responded to a Aircraft Emergency at the Bayport Aerodome. On arrival units acted fast and professional in securing the aircraft and helping EMS crews with the 2 patient's who walked away with minor injuries. Our First Firehouse.  Looking West down Middle Rd.  The Orginal firehouse was demolished after the current headquarters was built.  Today the lots have three buildings with a similar look to the original firehouse and they are called Firehouse Commons.
