* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn), Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Fundraiser for Rebecca DeSantis

As you know, the dedicated volunteer firefighters of The Bayport Fire Department have been serving our community for almost 125 years, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Today we are asking the community to help us. The Bayport Fire Department is raising money for the wife of one of our members who is currently battling Leukemia.

Suffolk County Marathon through Bayport

The 1st Annual Suffolk County/Boston Qualifier Marathon will be held on Sunday September 13. This marathon will proceed from Heckshire State Park along Montauk Hwy through Patchogue. During the marathon Montauk Hwy will be closed to all vehicular traffic including crossing Montauk Hwy. Please plan accordingly.
