The Bayport Fire District is a municipality that collects taxes from the residents of Bayport for the purpose of Fire Protection. It is represented by five elected commissioners that serve five-year terms. The Fire District is a separate entity from the Fire Department which is a private membership non-for-profit organization. The Fire District employs a 24/7 staff of dispatchers that handle emergency communications for the Bayport, Blue-Point Fire, and Davis Park Fire Departments, as well as Community Ambulance Company. Additionally, the Bayport Fire District handles the maintenance of vehicles for the Bayport, Blue-Point, and Patchogue Fire Departments and the Bayport-Blue Point School District.
