Fundraiser for Rebecca DeSantis

 
As you know,  the dedicated volunteer firefighters of The Bayport Fire Department have been serving our community for almost 125 years, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.  Today we are asking the community to help us.  The Bayport Fire Department is raising money for the wife of one of our members who is currently battling Leukemia.

Suffolk County Marathon through Bayport

The 1st Annual Suffolk County/Boston Qualifier Marathon will be held on Sunday September 13.  This marathon will proceed from Heckshire State Park along Montauk Hwy through Patchogue.  During the marathon Montauk Hwy will be closed to all vehicular traffic including crossing Montauk Hwy.  Please plan accordingly.

Team Effort Saves Bayport Man's Life Following Snowstorm

Emergency responders saved a man who was in cardiac arrest last month.

 
Being in the right place at the right time played a key role in saving the life of a 55-year-old Bayport resident on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
 
As the second day of blizzard Juno was winding down, Bayport Fire Department Assistant Chief Paul Dolce was assessing the aftermath of the storm. As Chief Dolce was driving home on N. Bayport Ave he saw a man frantically waving his hands and several other people running towards a driveway. Paul stopped his chief’s vehicle and witnessed a man lying on the ground behind a snow blower. Prior to exiting his truck, Paul called Bayport Fire Dispatch and requested further help.
